The Nelson was born from a desire to create a vibrant community of people who convene for engaging discussions about important, and sometimes provocative topics. In New York City, there are few social events focused on facilitating meaningful dialogue. The Nelson fills this void in the social scene.
The Nelson is a discussion salon dedicated to sharing knowledge through engaging discourse and friendly debates among our members. We imagine that what begins as a conversation at The Nelson can lead to new friendships, community engagement, expanded networks, and increased success for communities of color. Inspired by Nelson Mandela and the 18th century salon, The Nelson is a modern-day twist on an old concept.
